Hello everyone,

this is my first post, i hope this is the correct place to open a new topic :)

well, the last time i tried to install osx on a pc was 3 years ago on a notebook.... since then i have never tried again.

this is my actual desktop:

mb: asus p8p67 evo

cpu: intel i2500k@4.2ghz

ram: 8gb ddr3

vga: geforce gtx460

i would want to have a dual boot with win7+lion on 2 different hd, i want to choose from bios which one to start.

what i want to know is:

1. is my pc fully compatible?

2. i legally own a mbp, the best way to install osx is to use the original snowleopard iso and then upgrade to lion? if it is possible :)

thank you in advance and sorry for my english (i am italian :) )

ok nice, i did it with ubeast+mbeast.

it is full working except some troubles with audio: i tried with mbeast and ALC892 but did not work.

Then i tried VoodooHDA and it worked except the mic, and since then i experience some random kernel panic on boot.

someone knows why?

Careful with overclocking, that can sometimes cause a panic too.

it isn't that for sure, in windows is fully stable with 24h of prime95 or 3dmark....

i think that i have some trouble with kext, i tried many kext and deleted a lot of apple original kext. Once i enter in mac os i am fully stable, i only get random kernel panic on boot ( something like 1 kernel panic every 3 reboots, very strange)

This evening i will try again with a clean install, i am trying to simplify the installation as much as i can, just to be able to better identify the troubles.

ok, i did it!

the random kernel panics were caused by the voodoHDA, i changed audio driver and now it is all working well!

not even one kernel panic, fully working, fully stable!

i am working with the backup of my 2011 17" macbook pro, and the system feels even faster!

i have to say thank you guys, because i reached this point even by reading many of your topics :)

now, if someone has troubles with a system like mine (p8p67 evo + gtx 460) it is my turn to help
