plympton
I searched and searched, but can't find anyone posting anything specific on what to change for this chip (lost of 57xx answers...) My Asrock's NIC doesn't work at the moment, but I have a PCI Broadcom 5702 card laying around which is 1/2 recognized - it shows up as a NIC in OS X, but can't configure it - it's confused (can't connect, find and IP, etc..) I know I need to edit the 5701 plist, but I don't know what to enter for this card - anyone? Thanks! -Dan
Rammjet
In OSX, go to System Profiler (in the Utilities folder). On the left, click on PCI cards. On the right, find the ethernet card and get the vendor (should be 14e4) and device id's. Add those to this file: /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext/Contents/Info.plist (as pci14e4,16xx) Delete the files: /System/Library/Extensions.mkext and /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache Go to Disk Utility (in Utilities folder) and Repair Permissions on your OSX partition
