peakz
I'm finally getting preped to make the upgrade to Lion and I need to upgrade to 10.6.8 to get ready. I'm running 10.6.7 on my production drive on a GA EP43-DS3L with an atheros wifi card and pretty much everything else running stock on the motherboard. I also have a testing partition on the same drive as my production OS so that I can use the same instal of Cham to boot both. This has worked for me from 10.5.8 on up. I went to upgrade my test system to 10.6.8 and found that I needed to update my Chameleon install (was 2.0rc3) to get my wifi working again. So I downloaded the latest trunk from the svn and compiled it (r1902) without any issues. moved the new files into my Cham partition (disk3s2) set up org.chameleon.Boot.plist and reboot my testing partition. Everything was working perfect right away, with a quick HDA patch I was running perfect on my test and ready to upgrade my production system. When I went to reboot into my production system to start the upgrade, I'm now hanging on boot and I can't figure out why. It looks like I'm getting the acpi_smc_platformplugin failed to locate smc driver error right before the hang. I checked that my fakeSMC.kext is up to date and still in /E/E, but that does not seem to help. I can still boot into my 10.6.8 testing partition, but all my goodies are on the production side, I'd really like to get that going again. Can some of the gurus that have helped me through their amazing tutorials and other problem solving on this forum please give me some ideas to try? I searched far and wide for hours, but have not found anything that can help.
