Professor Piff
Hi everyone, i've been lurking in threads about this computer for over 12 hours now and decided it was time to sign up and actually work on it. I'm not having much go right so far. i won this computer at a government auction this past week for 15 dollars. I currently have a Mac Pro 1.1 (2006 model) running 10.7.3 but have the 10.6 snow leopard disk and would really like to get SL working on this dell. My main goal is to hopefully install logic/mainstage onto this computer and use it as a live setup to perform music. I see it's possible...but I need to post in the forum in order to download certain files users have posted to get things working. Here are my specs Optiplex gx520 BIOS version = A05 (10/13/05) Processor = Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20 GHz RAM = 1 gb DDR2 SDRam HDD = 320 gb Western Digital on SATA-0 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277376-hello-new-user-herejust-got-a-dell-optiplex-gx520-excited/ Share on other sites

I would really recommend upgrading the processor to a dual core pentium D. It makes the installation easier, it will significantly speed up your machine and they are cheap.
