Success on GA-K8NS Skt 754 - no LAN or snd though

Up and running using the generic install DVD. Great instructions & work - thanks guys! - it worked first time!

 

A straight native install onto a spare 20GB PATA Hard Drive I had lying about.

 

Specs:

 

Gigabyte K8NS Skt 754 M/B

- ALC850 on board audio (not working)

- Nforce 3 on board LAN (not working)

AMD 3000+ 754 (SSE2 only) - runs just fine

Geforce 6600GT

USB mouse and keyboard only (PS2 keyboard doesn't work)

1GB RAM

 

My GeForce 6600GT is stuck in 1024x768@60Hz for some reason, as it USED to work on an older install at 1280x1024@60. I've tried editing the plist boot etc. to no avail. This may have to do with the fact I installed at setup onto the HD as a primary master, then, to dual boot (using BIOS switches), I set the drive to primary slave. It still boots fine, but boots very slowly.

 

I've tried some of the suggested fixes for audio and PS/2 keyboards, but without success.

 

Surfing the the net just fine,using a Realtek 8139D add-in PCI card.
