CamDAX
Hello everyone I am having some kext issues with my hackintosh. Please help I have a major project I need to finish and I need my hackintosh for it. I have been trying to find the right kext for my ATI5770 graphics card and it the process I cant get my hackintosh to boot now, even in varaboos or safe mode. Single user gets me a terminal but its a read-only file system (I tried to delete the kexts i installed and it said "read only file system"). Below are photos of my boot up errors. https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B3mVj2ufceRbdzhLNGJ2V1ZRS1M3SUIxcUxLRnVNQQ Before my Hackintosh ran great with dual monitors but occasionally programs like Finder, Google Chrome, Open Office, and Picasa would freeze at random. My Hardware is MB: Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L Ram:4GB Graphics Card: Asus ATI5770 HDs -2TB for Data -200GB for hackintosh Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277299-booting-and-other-errors/ Share on other sites
CamDAX
I got it to boot into safe mode by booting single user waiting for the command prompt typing in "mount -rw /" typing "cd /System/Library/Extensions/" then typing "rm -rf (kext)" in my case the kext was ATI5000Controller.kext then I booted safe mode But I still need help. I need my second monitor working and my hackintosh fast again. Please Help CamDAX Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277299-booting-and-other-errors/#findComment-1807351 Share on other sites

rlf
Maybe you've already done it, but get yourself a case of beer and read through the ATI 5770 thread. It is a big one. Some people had to flash new bios on the card, others just had to modify their DSDT and some got away with setting GraphicsEnabler on in Chameleon. It all depended upon the card. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=205802 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277299-booting-and-other-errors/#findComment-1807365 Share on other sites
CamDAX
@rlf Ok so what I did was download the Mac OS X Update for 10.6.7 and unpacked the pkg. file contained and went into System/Library/Extensions of that pkg. file and installed all the ATI kexts. Now dual monitors work but its hecka slow............and I cant play YouTube videos, play videos that are on my HD, or look at photo on my HD.
