bcd Posted September 15, 2006 Share Posted September 15, 2006 Hello all, I have this weird problem (on may 10.4.7 on a HP zd7000): PPC apps stooped working (amoung others: adobe cs2, office 2004). I've done 2 things befere that behaviour: i ran Monolingual (version 1.3.4) to get some free space and i've installed itunes7. In tha console I see this: dyld: Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Versions/A/Carbon Referenced from: /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS2/Adobe ImageReady CS2.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe ImageReady CS2 Reason: no suitable image found. Did find: /System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Versions/A/Carbon: mach-o, but wrong architecture /System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Versions/A/Carbon: mach-o, but wrong architecture any ideeas? You can use Monolingual to remove non-Intel architectures for your installed applications (even if some of the applications are PowerPC-only; Monolingual is smart enough not to remove PPC forks if those are the only ones in the universal binary). However, you should not strip the System frameworks if you want to use Rosetta. Rosetta needs the PowerPC code for all frameworks used by the emulated application and if it can't find it, you may see messages such as the following in the console: /System/Library/Frameworks/Cocoa.framework/Versions/A/Cocoa: mach-o, but wrong architecture You should reinstall OSX. alicheusz Posted October 1, 2006 Share Posted October 1, 2006 Monolingual is smart enough not to remove PPC forks if those are the only ones in the universal binary that's silly. For what this is made if you can't use any rosetta app after removing PPC binary.
