Hello everyone, my name's Jamie and I'm relatively new to the hackintosh world, but not to OSX. I currently have a 2011 MBP, 2009 MBP, 2007 Macbook, and a Dell Mini 10v hackbook.

I have a Dell D610 laptop I'm trying to install 10.5.6 on with the an iPC 10.5.6 DVD. I'm running into a lot of strange problems. Here's what's happened so far:

-first boot with the DVD, the installer was going ok until it stopped in the middle to tell me about a "defective install dvd" or something of the sort. I burned a new DVD.

-second boot with the new DVD, it started up fine. I realized I wasn't certain about the kexts I needed for my computer so I shut down and started from a Debian Live CD to do lspci.

-third boot from the same DVD, the computer freezes at "loading darwin." I just let it rest for a while.

-fourth boot i see the apple screen once again, but I get a kernel panic saying "nfs_boot_init failed."

-fifth boot i used -f and instead of a kernel panic, it just reboots.

-sixth boot i booted with the wireless turned off, and although I don't get a kernel panic, the computer just reboots.

I've tried a USB drive as well in case my CD drive is bad, but the computer would not detect it. I don't think the CD drive is bad because I have had no issues booting from any linux distro DVD's.
