KonstantinosNks Posted March 15, 2012 Share Posted March 15, 2012 Hi, i use a ups with serial port connector, the ups work good on 10.5.8 but when i move to lion the serial port dissapered from mac! i look on ttys and i found coz my build cant recognize my serial! i check my dsdt and all thinks and i found the real problem! The problem is the kernel extension Apple16X60Serial.kext! that kext have 64bit capabilities but one plugin of that kext (Apple16X50PCCard.kext) doesnt! So to verify my thinks i reboot machine to x86 arch with arch=i386 arg and the serial port works! so my question is: is any way to get the serial on 64bit? that problem is a apple bug-miss or serial ports doesnt work on 64bit?
