porovaara
I haven't had a hackintosh* for a few years now, but I am wanting to build a really, really, really, awesome desktop machine. however I don't see much out there about using the xeons. Does anyone currently have two four core xeons with a ton of memory running? I'd love to hear about your setup. My end goal is around 8 cores, ~24g memory, ~1 TB R10 with a couple stupid large monitors. Help a brotha out! * last hackintosh was a tablet pc, with all built-ins except the camera working. shaitan667
I have done just this. I have a Dell Precision T7400 workstation - 2x Xeon X5472 CPUs - 3ghz quad core each 32GB RAM 120GB Corsair Force 3 SSD for the OS 2x 300GB 15,000 RPM SAS drives in RAID 0 2x 1TB WD Green Drives nVidia Quadro FX3700 GPU (will be replacing this with a GTX285) Have installed OS X 10.7.2 by way of iATKOS L2. Installed without. Hitch and is running perfectly. Only issues are having to boot verbosely and not being able to sign in to the app store.
