Scotty geek
Ok Riddle me this batman... 2 comptuers, one old, one new. Both destined to be hackintoshes. Both will use SATA hard drives. Can I take the hard drive from 1 platform and move it to the other without having to completely reinstall everything? Of course Im aware of potential driver issues but that could be updates without reinstalling. I ask this because Im going to be in the midst of building me new system soon, but want to try out the hackintosh on my current P4 ( I know it will be dog slow) This isn't so much as a cry for help, just curiosity. Im sure down the road people will be building new core 2 duo systems and like to carry over their old Hard drive. Thanks all.. rkwok
old system: P4Dual915GL P4 2.6C 2X512MB DDR400 Segate IDE drive OSX 10.4.6 new system: 945G-DVI C2D E6400 2X1Gig DDR667 Seagate IDE drive (use sata dongle) connect to sata most things work, except LAN. It can be done, but a fresh install is always better and usually the system feels more responsive.
