qasim1iqbal
I am trying to boot iAtkos L2 on my custom-built Intel-based PC. I would think iAtkos would atleast boot, but I am wrong. I restored the iAtkos DMG to my 16GB USB in Snow Leopard 10.6, and then when I try to boot from it, nothing happens. The computer restarts and goes into the normal operating system installed on it. When I try to access it through ##### (verbose on), no errors are shown, but again, it just restarts into normal operating system. What is going on? I am sure the USB is right but it hasn't work on my custom-built PC, my Sony Vaio laptop, my Gateway LT27 netbook, or my father's custom built (intel i3) computer. What is the problem? After retrying just booting the USB, it stays at a screen that is a blinking "_" and does nothing Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/276503-why-isnt-iatkos-l2-even-booting-or-is-it/ Share on other sites
Foxic
Have you tried burning it to a DVD? Have you set the correct boot priorities in BIOS? Failing that, I would try a retail install, I don't do distros so can't really help much. qasim1iqbal
I am in a retail install of OS X 10.6, but I can't find the right Graphics kext. Supposedly L2 fixes this. I am going to try and burn to DVD and report back. qasim1iqbal
After burning the iATKOS_L2.dmg to a 4.7GB RW DVD (with Disk Utility on Mac OS X 10.6), I rebooted and chose CDROM on the boot menu. It prompted me with an option to wait or press F8 for more settings. I chose to Boot Verbose while in Chameleon. I am now hopefully awaiting the Lion install screen, and will report back with any news. qasim1iqbal
It all worked out, the installation went flawlessly and I am typing this from iATKOS L2 1.7.2. The only issue right now is I don't have my native resolution. I will make a new thread for that in post-install.
