tj13820 Posted February 27, 2012 Share Posted February 27, 2012 I'm building a new system this week (after my parts arrive!) and I wanted to see if anyone has any tips or tricks for the hardware. I have already checked the HCL for 10.7.3 on the wiki, so I know the components should work. Other than my GPU, which I have found little information on for the specific card. Here's the breakdown: MOBO: ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z/GEN3 - http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813131806 CPU: INTEL i5-2500k - http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819115072 RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) - http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820233143 GPU (Most concerned about this!): PNY GTX 260 XLR8 - http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814133393 120GB SATAIII SSD (WINDOWS 7) 320GB HDD (OSX) 2TB RAID1 (DATA) I also purchased an 850 Watt PSU. All of this is going into an Antec 900 (Original version) case. I'm modding the case for a PSU flip, and cable management. The rest of the aesthetics include: UV Green cable sleeving 2x12" UV Cathodes 12" Red cathode & 12" blue cathode Aerocool dual bay fan controller/temperature monitor I'm doing this all for under $800, and hope I can make a good High Performance Hackintosh to build for friends and family. I'll probably post a build log in the appropriate forum after getting all the parts. Hopefully someone can help me with some info on the PNY GTX 260 XLR8!
