Zaphod Beeblebrox
So my 10.6.8 install on my EP45-UD3P (lifehacker method) is acting a little strangely all of a sudden. If i click on 'About This Mac' and then click on 'More Info' it causes the system to log me off. I can however launch Apple System Profiler just fine from the Utilities folder. Anyone know a fix for this glitch? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/275540-launching-about-this-mac-more-info-results-in-logout/ Share on other sites
Sysyphus
This is an old post, but is probably still relevant: http://www.insanelym...showtopic=44353 Essentially what you want to do is: (1) Load the 10.6.8 Combo Update into Pacifist (or something similar) (2) Navigate to the following: Contents of MacOSXUpdCombo.10.6.8.pkg - - Contents of manual - - - - Contents of MacOSXUpdCombo.10.6.8.Part4.pkg - - - - - - System - - - - - - - - Library - - - - - - - - - - CoreServices (3) Extract the file loginwindow.app (4) Move the file loginwindow.app to /System/Library/CoreServices (5) Repair permissions Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/275540-launching-about-this-mac-more-info-results-in-logout/#findComment-1794025 Share on other sites
