My laptop is a Sony Vaio VGN-TX Series, specifically the PCG-4F1M, VGN-TX1XP.

Installed IDENEB v1.6, 10.5.8 Lite Edition.

I get "still waiting for root device"

Tried all boot options (-s, -x, -rd=disk0s1 etc.), but does not work.

If choose DVD as the boot device from Bios.

I boot from the DVD installation disk, and just when the DVD bootloader kicked in asking me if I want it to proceed to load the OSX installation, or press f8 for boot options, I pressed f8, and at that prompt I typed rd=disk0s2.

Surprise - the installed OSX boots.

I have tried installing several bootloader versions (Chameleon, EFI), but none seems to be able to boot the hd OSX directly.

Any suggestions?
