Hi I have tried a bunch of ways to try and get the 10.7.2 update to my system to this update but everyone didnt fix the no boot problem with "waiting for root device".

I have tried moving my /E/E to /s/l/e. booting to signle user and safe boot, made a smbios.plist file with champlist, booted with npci=0x2000,UseD UseKernelCache=yes, removed exetentions.mkext cache. I think that is all. Been at this all day trying to get my system working but am having no luck. Even tried starting form scratch and with the combo update downloaded. Any help would be nice so I can get use of the new stuff and just have an up todate system.

My system is as follows

Used Myhack to install form retail lion from the app store when it came out

Q6600 CPU

Asus p5q motherboard

4gb ram

9800gt video card

I was ale to update to 10.7.1 when it came out but this update is having problems with my system for some reason.

Thanks in advance for any help on this

I've stumbled upon this very issue today, after running a 10.7.2 combo-update on a fresh #####'ed installation of Lion (10.7.0). However, I recall that I was able to upgrade to 10.7.2 previously (not without issues, but it everything was fully working) by installing Lion, running 10.7.1 update, THEN running ##### on it and then installing 10.7.2 (or maybe even multibeasting after 10.7.2 was applied). I will try to retrace those steps tonight. My mobo is p5ql-se, 1Tb+320Gb drives, Sony-NEC Optirac DVD and some Broadcomm-based PCI-E WiFi card, which happened to work ootb as native Airport Extreme.

Ok thanks kervich. I have a feeling it is just something I am overlooking and can't figure out. Sorry buoo I thought I posted this in the right section.

Update: just an update on the problem. By using ##### and ##### I got it working. What I did was install the 10.7.2 that I have on a flash drive and then use the downloaded updates I have to try and fix the problem and then installed ##### to make the drive bootable with all the Kexts I need for network and such. I'm going to try it on another partion and try and use the update manager this time by installing the network Kexts so I have a backup install incase my install gets messed up while I am in school. Thanks for the help kervich
