I've given up on ever getting my Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe with the AMD Athlon 64 3200+ CPU to ever work with Mac OS X, so I've decided to start over from scratch. What motherboard and CPU would you suggest I buy?

I'd recommend you go with Gigabyte or Asus Z68 boards that other users within the forums have gotten to work and the majority of the Intel SB (Sandy Bridge) cpus will work with OS X. I see from your current system that you have an 8600 GT I'd recommend you upgrade that as well if you have the funds to spare as well.(it will make Lion more fluid) As a general idea it's best to go Intel when it comes on to OS X because Intel works natively whilst AMD cpus utilizes patched kernels in order to run OS X. If you more in depth help with selecting models of mobos post back with the budget you have in mind and we could work around it.

I recommend the same as TH3L4UGH1NGM4N.

My system runs on a Z68 Gigabyte MB really, really well.

Together with an i7-2600k runs the system flawless and not that much problems while the complete installprocedure.

With my Mainboard I had never a problem to run the installation with any dirty hacks or workarounds. ;)
