KHIT
Hi I have been using OS X 10.7.x Lion since it came out and was usable on hackintosh machines, and everything has worked just fine, but for some reason when I enabled the root user account today, because I needed to edit some files I couldn't edit with my normal admin account, I logged out and tried to log in to the root user, which I had been using a long time ago to edit some files too, it wouldn't accept the password for the account. As I tried to log back in to my admin account to change the root password, Finder just kept restarting it-self, and I couldn't do anything else but opening applications in the dock, and pressing the power button to get the shut down dialog, then shut down and boot back up. Tried booting in safe mode, but same result. The very weird thing about this is that I can log into the normal user account, which I have created for making video tutorials, and everything is working fine from that account, and I could also disable and re-enable the root user from that account. How do I fix the problem without formatting the whole drive and starting from the scratch again? I have all availible updates installed, and also a dual-boot with windows 7 ultimate x64(windows is installed on a secondary harddrive), if it is needed. The reason why I don't want to erase the whole OS X harddrive is that I have no spare drive which is big enough to save the almost 200GB of files I have stored in OS X. So I would be really happy if someone could tell me how to fix the problem with the Finder crashing, in my Lion 10.7.2 installation, on my admin account. Thanks a lot in advance for any replies to this post. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/272997-finder-crashes-and-restarts/ Share on other sites

KHIT
I have tried to repair disk permissions and repair disk, but none of them did work, Finder is still crashing. I have AMD Radeon HD5670 1GB Graphics Card from ASUS, which works out of the box in Lion, so it runs an stock OS X kexts, how should I update them? KHIT
I needed to use OS X so much that I just made a backup from Windows and then formatted the OS X hard drive, and now everything works.
