Gringo Vermelho
Try Chameleon GraphicsEnabler. Or maybe this way will work - http://www.insanelym...howtopic=270963 - obviously use the correct device ID for your card. Run terminal.app and enter kextstat > ~/desktop/kextstat.txt Attach kextstat.txt here. And stop with the crossposting already. Your other sixteen identical posts have been deleted. You have been warned. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/272969-nvidia-geforce-8400-gs-1gb-pci-e-no-qeci-enabled/#findComment-1775829 Share on other sites
Powaking
I have this card and I too am having difficulties getting full graphics performance out of it. I did enable the cards ID via the Info.plist but performance is on par with my 7300gs 256meg card. Gringo Vermelho
Read up on editing AppleIntelGraphicsPowermanagement.kext. If you use the MacPro3,1 model identifier in smbios.plist AGPM.kext does not load. Try that first. MacPro3,1 will be fine for the hardware in your signature. You can use champlist to build the smbios.plist if you don't feel like doing it by hand. Powaking
I'm using smbios of an iMac9,1. I ended up adding the device id for my card in the AGPM (but not the AppleIntelGraphicsPowerManagement) and I did notice an improvement (Cinebench went from 1.49 to 8.33). I still feel I can get better performance. Edited April 9, 2012 by Gringo Vermelho Please don't quote entire posts when replying directly below them. Gringo Vermelho
I ended up adding the device id for my card in the AGPM (but not the AppleIntelGraphicsPowerManagement) I don't understand. AGPM and AppleIntelGraphicsPowerManagement.kext is the same thing. What did you do? If you want to see your video card to run completely unthrottled, remove AppleGraphicsblabla and see if that helps. If it helps, you have more editing to do. That's a pretty big improvement though. Powaking
Thats just it I don't have AppleIntelGraphicsPowerManagement.kext, I only have the AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext so I was somewhat confused by what was suggested. Yes I agree the improvements so far is big, but its barely as fast as my 7300gs 256meg card so I think there is much more improvement that can be made. I'm just not sure what settings should be set for this card in the AGPM.kext (what is the max settings this card can take?).
