zinneken Posted November 23, 2011 Share Posted November 23, 2011 Motherboard/graphics card is the i915GMS/i910GML rev 3 system is iPC 10.5.6 I only use this machine as a seedbox, with transmission. There is nothing else going on on this machine. RAM wise there's plenty of free RAM, Processor wise it hardly ever goes to use 20% CPU. The machine does however produce quite some heat, and the fan is running constantly, sometimes faster, sometimes slower (especially when the screen dims), but always on. I guess this has to do with the graphics card, since plenty of RAM and plenty of processor available. I reduced to thousands of colors, and the fan is somewhat slower then at millions of colors at times (or it is wishful thinking that it is slower ... psychology!). How can I tweak the graphics so that the thing runs more quietly? I don't need anything else then the OS and Transmission.
