Nonchalance.cd
So I got my system up and running using #####, everything works nicely, but two things are weird. 1. HDD makes a lot of noise when it's being read/written. For things such as Mission Control and changing clicking a different space, the noise is made for a split second. For tasks such as copying files, running games, the sound persists. This sound never happens in Windows. This is pretty concerning, worried about my HDD life. Drive is a 500GB Spinpoint F3 in my computer. 2. Idle temperature on my CPU is about 7+ degrees higher. With Windows I'm idling around 45, on Lion I'm around 52-54. Speedstep C and P states are enabled with the plist file, and the CPU is clocking down according to SMC monitor, is this normal? Running all stock speeds on the i7. Any ideas would be great, thanks Running 10.7.2 System Specs: Gigabyte EX-58 UD3R rev 1.6, BIOS version FI i7 920 Spinpoint F3 (plugged into the white intel ones on mobo) Sapphire Vapor-X HD4890 6GB DDR3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/272281-hdd-noise-in-os-x-cpu-temperatures-high-with-hackintosh/ Share on other sites
