Lucky enough, I can still get into the system using "-x" and use my Lan card to connect the internet and post here. Used Jas' 10.4.6 with PPF1 DVD to install Installed Castillo and koverg for my X600M And AC97 Driver for my ATI audio Broadcom 80211 suport was selected during installation ( I know it cannot work on Acer because of the Radio problem, I just wanna see the Airport Icon) Deleted AppleAirport2.kext ( Who tells me to? Rammjet Posted September 10, 2006 Share Posted September 10, 2006 Your IO80211Family.kext is causing the problem. Try the following: Go to Disk Utility and repair permissions on your OSX partition Delete the files /System/Library/Extensions.mkext and /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache Reboot If that doesn't help, then the next step will be to disable the IO80211Family.kext and you'll lose your Airport icon. I still have to disable IO80211Family.kext? If so... How? Disappointed... Wonder when will Acer's soft switch be supported...... Go to Terminal:Type: cd /System/Library/Extensions Type: sudo mkdir IO80211_backup (give your password) Type: sudo mv IO80211Family.kext IO80211_backup/ Type: sudo rm -r /System/Library/Extensions.mkext Type: sudo rm -r /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache Type: diskutil repairPermissions / Reboot Wonder when will Acer's soft switch be supported......Unless Apple incorporates a soft switch in their products (which I doubt they will), then I would expect - never.
