Greetings,

I am running 10.4.6 on an Elitegroup 755-A mobo. I am a newbie to OSX but fairly familiar with UNIX. If possible, I would like to get my on-board sound and LAN adapter working. I don't have a problem with purchasing PCI cards if necessary.

I am using a Radeon 9600 PRO SE AGP / 128MB but can only display 1024x768. I have downloaded the Callisto drivers but will install at a later time. I am going to pick up a 20" widescreen monitor and would like to use the DVI connection. Which card would you recommend?

I am not opposed to purchasing a new mobo combo as well. I am not a die hard AMD or Intel fan. I can alway run BSD/Winders on this one. Listed below are the specs on my mobo and an Xbench report. If anyone has performance tips or tricks that they would like share, please do.

BTW, What's the command to add packages?

Thanks,

The chipset on this motherboard includes the SiS755 Northbridge combine with SiS964 Southbridge chipset.

AC97 v2.3 supporting 6 Channels of AC97 speaker outputs and V.90 HSPModem. The ALC655 is compliant with the AC'97 2.3 specification and supports multiple CODEC extensions with independent variable

sampling rates and built-in 3D effects.

The Realtek’s RTL8201 10/100 is a Fast Ethernet Phyceiver with MII interface to MAC chip.

Try the forcedeth.kext or forcedeth-nockd.kexd for the LAN. I use Realtek ALC8201CL external PHY and it works very well with forcedeth-nockd.kext, just copy it into IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins then add your DEV ID and VEN ID to the info.plist of the forcedeth kext youre using.
