Mettiu
Hi everybody, I think I am experiencing disappointing performances with Lion 10.7.2. First of all, here is my system: GIGABYTE GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 Rev.1.0 Intel Core i5 2500K (not overclocked) RAM CorsairCMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 [DDR3 PC3-12800 2x4GB GALAXY GeForce GTX480 SuperOC/1536MD5 With Lion installed on a Crucial m4 CT128M4SSD2. I used the Chimera/#####/xMove installation method (with the proper DSDT for my motherboard - then iMac 12,2 smbios), then combo updated to 10.7.2, then updated the boot-loader to Chimera 1.6.0. I have not installed any customization for my graphic card, I just have the GraphicsEnabler activated in Chameleon.Boot.plist. I have not tried FaceTime since I do not have a webcam, but both AppStore and iCloud are working. All my peripherals seems to be correctly detected and everything (Ethernet, Wifi, Bluetooth, USB Internal Card Reader..) is working properly. However, I feel that the is some issue with the performance, as for example Mission Control gets slow very easily with few applications opened. So I decided to install and run Maxon Cinebench 11.5, and I got disappointing results. Consider that as display I am using a Cintiq 12WX so the screen resolution is 1280x800: OpenGL 10.77 fps CPU 4.76pts Which are indeed very low results... what could I do to improve the performances, especially those of my video card? Thank in advance! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/271793-solved-1072-disappointing-performances/ Share on other sites
Mettiu
I have just noticed that my RAM are not recognized properly. They are supposed being DDR3-1600, but in System Informations one displays as RAM-1333, the other DDR3-1333.. -CEOS-
same problem here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=271725 the ram thing is just cosmetic. think you can change it in smbios.plist Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/271793-solved-1072-disappointing-performances/#findComment-1768713 Share on other sites
Mettiu
Uhm... is this weird?? I just changed my smbios to MacPro 3,1 and, voilà, Cinebench scores more than 40 fps and the overall system seems much more responsive!!!
