Hi guys,

Here's the situation. Ever since I updated from SL to Lion my USB 3.0 starting to act up randomly. I meant when I try to back up my drive using Time Machine during a middle of some progress it randomly disconnects and says that I haven't eject it safely when it clear that it still plugged into the computer and also during the backup the speed is really slow in fact it says it takes 30 days to complete. I verified the backup and system drive with disk utility and there's appear to be not problem. i even tried to repair it and fix permission but still no difference. But when I backup windows it has no problem backing up the entire drive though. Btw I'm using the Lacie USB 3.0 driver modified by mod bin on insanelymac, worked on SL perfectly but doesn't work properly on Lion.

Thanks in advanced

All I can say is try the latest USB 3.0 driver in ##### 4.1, as it has been updated.

I realized that I'm already on 1.0.7 for the drive so it doesn't really solve my problem here, thanks for the help anyways

Has anyone encountered situations where the drive will randomly disconnect, and immediately reconnect ??

I'm on 10.7.3 ( upgraded from 10.6.8 -> 10.7.2, but it happened on SnowLeop and 10.7.2 as well ).

Using the LaCie 1.0.8 driver (hacked, of course),

Seagate GoFlex 1.5Tb USB 3.0

And this NEC/Renesas Expresscard ( WITH the extra power from a USB 2.0 port ).

I have logs, but don't have a subscription so I can't upload, if someone wants to PM me, I can email the zip with the logs ( like 20Kb ).

The drive will also run for a while copying a large (50+GB) file, and then suddenly halt, disconnect, and then reconnect.

This behavior even happens when it's been sitting idle and you simply dbl-click on the drive icon to open finder.

If you have ASUS board you need to update USB 3 firmware,.. bundle is under USB in downloads for your board (the big one).

I presume that's for a NEC/Renesas u720200 chipset ? And if so, anyone know how to upgrade that firmware when you're on an actual Mac ?
