jollyfatman
I am unable to playback DVD files on my on-board video chipset. mobo: Intel 915GLVG display: 82915G/GV/910 GL Express Chipset (Ven.id: 8086 Dev.id: 2582 To all noobs like me: PLEASE note that if the System Profiler (Hardware | Graphics / Display) lists your Chipset as GMA 900 and reports that Core Image and Quartz Extreme are NOT available, then you have made the same blunder that I did. You simply need to re-install your OS with the GMA 900 patch selected. I used the excellent 10.4.6 JaS iso. This patch is a part of the iso! Had to post (double-post in fact) coz right now - after 4 days of posting "Help Me!" and reading 100s of posts and trying 50 'solutions' and hacks, I'm feeling rather STUPID! Please save yourself the bother and look carefully when you are installing. Hope this helps someone...
