Spike23 Posted October 29, 2011 Share Posted October 29, 2011 Update : This problems goes away if I set my hdd to ACHI, but if I do this I get stuck with the error : "Unable to find driver for this platform : \ACPI\" Hey guys, I've been trying to install osx all day today and have just been getting errors after errors..(Thank god for the wiki page, searching through the forums is a nightmare) Although I've now hit a slight problem that the wiki was unable to help with.. "Error: Firewire unable to determine security-mode;defaulting to full-secure. Still waiting for root device Still waiting for root device Still waiting for root device Still waiting for root device I looked on the wikipage and it said about using the 1st ide slots for my hdd and removing any other hdd, so I took out my other hdd and put 1 in, in the main ide slot. Although, I'm still receiving the same error :/ Boot command I'm using atm : -x -v cpus=1 acpi=off EDIT : Do I need to make the partition for osx before installing? I currently just have win 7 on my hdd.
