Hello insanelymac :)

I am running my hackbook Acer Aspire 5315 laptop on Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

It has Intel x3100 graphics. (8086:2a02)

I can't determine if or not my laptop is running QE or CI

I am running default 10.6.8 kexts and I get full 1280x800 resolution on my laptop.

However I see no mention of QE or CI on System Profiler, and I just can't get reliable information about it on google.

So:

Is QE possible on x3100 on snow leopard?

How could I determine if I'm running it?

Do I need any other kexts than those I already have?

Is running QE benefitable?

I'm just out of any reliable info about QE / CI / QuartzGL.

If you need any more information, then please, just ask.

I thank you in advance! :)

I don't know if this works with SL 10.6.8 coz I am running Lion. To test your QE/CI, open Dashboard. Click on the +(plus) symbol that is in the bottom-left hand corner and select any of the program from there (for example, address book). When you click that app, it launches within Dashboard with ripple effect. There could be other ways but this is how I know :roll eyes:

p.s. i have attached screen shot of my Lion's ripple effect. It is not very clear but if you look carefully you can get some idea.
