ovo Posted October 24, 2011 Share Posted October 24, 2011 things have worked well for 4 or 5 months but recently Ive been getting a black screen on reboot usually before os x or win7 loads, un plugging doesnt fix it but if I let it sit for 20 min it usually boots fine, so does un plugging my os x drive which points to my os x hdd. I got a new mother board thinking that was the problem but no same prob. took video card back for testing and works fine. have a esx-58 extreme mobo and 5870 gigabyte gpu on 10.6.7 os x with win7 on separate hdd I dont overclock and im stuffed if I know what to try next! PookyMacMan Posted October 26, 2011 Share Posted October 26, 2011 I would back up and reinstall both OS'es, if possible. So, you are saying if you reboot, you get a black screen? No BIOS prompt, nothing? What about shutting down and turning it on again?
