I am a photographer who have very large volume of photo record. I use Spotlight quite often to search for my photos and one of the most frequently used options is the created dates of the images.

Recently, I found that the EXIF data format in my images might not match with Spotlight, making it not able to search for all the photos that I look for. I made some experiments with some test photos and it simply fail to find, not even after I rebuild the Spotlight database with software or searching with a more powerful tool called Houdahspot, which uses Spotlight database as well.

After all the attempts, I realise that may be caused by incompatibility between the EXIF data formation in my images and the Spotlight database. I usually use Photoshop to created my images which are mostly Jpeg or Tiff.

Since I am not a computer expert, I would like to know if there anyone who can suggest a solution? I am sure that would make my life much easier.

Thanks in advance!
