steoguitar
hi, i've (as the signature tells) an Asus x72F. I've tried the Hazard distro but my partition map is MBR and I don't want to erase my HD... I tried some other distro such as Snow Osx86 universal but the dvd simply doesn't start.. how can I choose THE distro for my notebook? deadreaper
You do not have to erase your HD for installing Hazard , Just create a new Mac journaled partition Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/270885-how-to-choose-a-distro/#findComment-1764884 Share on other sites
steoguitar
yes I've done the steps you wrote but at the boot it stuck at: "disk0s2 ioctl ('',51) unsupported" (disk0s2 in the windows partition....) someone told me that this error is made by the MBR partitioning system... bodjitsa
You have to change your partition scheme from MBR to GUID Partition Table. This still means that you will have to erase all the data from your hard drive. Find yourself some external hd, backup your files, partition your drive to GPT and than make the partition for the Mac OSX Case-Sensitive Journaled. The other partition (if you intend to dual boot with some Microsoft OS) make FAT - don't worry you will format ti later when installing the OS to NTFS. Good luck!
