Bob Loblaw
I've never seen another report of anyone successfully installing OS X on a Firebird 803, but I can confirm that it can be successfully done, with QE/CI working, and Lion running beautifully in 64-bit mode. I used iATKOS-L, then added the 5.1 version of VoodooHDA (downloaded from kexts.com). Everything I've tested seems to be working, including DVI output, Ethernet, Bluetooth, sound, USB, shutdown, sleep/resume*, and QE/CI transparency. As these PCs come standard with two hard drives, I partitioned the second drive and installed Lion there, using Chimera 1.5.4 to dual-boot Windows 7 or Lion. (As a recovery option, I also installed an 8GB Snow Leopard partition on the other drive.) I've also successfully tested a Magic Trackpad, which fully supports the Trackpad's multitouch features in Lion. Works like a charm! I just used the standard iATKOS-L options, selecting Chimera as the boot loader.
