I have been trying for 2 days now to get the Radeon HD 3450 to work. I installed kext and it only worked half way. I went through hundreds of google links and dozens insanelymac topics and still having issues so any help is appreciated. On 10.6.8 you may read topic of mucha's topic http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=252061 You are new with mac os x snow. And you may read carefully that link. But please, don't say that you didn't find there solution for your card. You may understand some things by yourself. It will be easier to move forward. I can only say, that you will not get acceleration for your card (so remove your acceleration kext - ATIRadeonXxxxx.kext). Only full resolution switch. If you'll have problems with backlight (NO BACKLIGHT), don't use flag FEATURE_USE_BACKLIGHT. So your personality for LVDS may look like this: 02 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 01 01 00 00 00 01 00 07 (Notice that the last four bytes you may calculate yourself, - loock through mucha's topic)

I have read the post at least 5 times from top to bottom. I got as far as opening the file with hex editor and downloading "Sharks" for Radeon HD 3XXX and prior cards. vopros-otvet
I've spent much more time for finding solutions & read that topic at least 20 times))) I even had to learn some asm language basics. OK. You need firstly ATY_Init for your system (i've found only 64-bit ATY_Init, so booting in 32-bit mode in Snow will not work). Or if it's possible, - working GraphicsEnabler in Chameleon. Secondly, you may read radeon_bios_decode log (to define what connectors are present in your video card & their sence-ids) & Dong's RadeonHD dmesg. Thirdly, you may post this results in this topic. Maybe i can help you.
