I've installed Lion (iATKOS L1) on a Dell Inspiron n5040 (specs below).

Steps I've taken:

  1. Shrunk C:\ drive in Windows
  2. Created new NTFS partition, named it OSX86
  3. Used GParted to set OSX86 partition flag "boot"
  4. Booted from iATKOS L1 DVD
  5. Used DiskUtility in installer to 'erase' OSX86 partition, changing filesystem to Journaled
  6. Installed Lion (default settings)
  7. Boot to OSX86 using iATKOS DVD bootloader

I've also tried booted using Chameleon 2.1 r1627VS [iCloud & FaceTime Fix] on a thumb drive.

I've tried booting with different combinations of -v, -x, -f, and arch=i386.

Not sure what the issue is from the verbose text, anything jump out at that might indicate the issue? Thanks!!

Ok first off you need to try booting with -f and -x -v. At the Boot loader prompt enter -v -x -f and see if it boots.

If it says kernel panic then report back. You might need a custom DSDT for your computer. I installed Lion and my Dell Latitude D630 was a pain but I got it fully working. If you need more help I think Insanely Mac lets you PM me.

Oh and by the way iAtkos is a pain, follow Madlon's Lion install method just use your custom extra instead of his. Did you have SNow on here before, because you should be able to Use kexts and A DSDt From it. :D
