midian
Hello there! I just installed the new iCloud update for Lion. But now the boot Process stops at "PCI Configuration begin". I already found out that it might be a problem with the graphic card kext. So obviously, the new lion update just replaced the kext i used before. I now have the idea of taking the old extra Folder ( The one that worked with 10.7.1 - i made a copy of this before updating ) and replace it with the existing folder of my current lion installation. Is that the right idea? and - how do i install the extra folder? do i just have to copy/paste and delete the other folder before ? Or is there an installation tool where i can choose my existing extra folder to install? Thanks for any suggestions =) Best regards, Malte My Configuration: Cpu: Intel Core i7 920 Gpu: Nvidia 460 gtx MB: GB ex58-ud4p No working operation system but i have the possibility to access the lion Hard drive with my MacBook via Usb Adapter. midian
okay, PCI Configuration fixed for now. But Pc won't boot anyway - it always stucks on "Kernel is LP64" ( Screenshot attached ) Does anyone know what that means ? ( i am missing the old "classic" kernel panic, where you always could see what kext was exactly causing the problem ) Thanks! midian
Thanks! Ok, i tried like a billion combinations of different bootloaders and kexts. It seems to me that when everything is likely ok - i mean, no KP or other kext conflicts - it ends up showing only " Calling registerService" and stops. Any ideas? midian
Ok - i have it! Here is what i did: Well, i accepted the fact that my Lion installation doesn't want to work anymore. i took another HDD, connected it to my Macbook. I installed Lion with the Installation app from the appstore, then downloaded a custom DSDT for my MB from tonymac's Homepage, installed it with the realtek network driver via #####, then i installed the new chimera boot loader ( 1.6 ), plugged the HDD back in and VOILA! What i noticed is that when you re-Download your purchased Mac OS X Lion Installer you don't get 10.7 but 10.7.2 So after the installation i did not have to update, everything went fine: Facetime, iCloud, Internet, Graphics, all working perfectly. The only thing i don't have installed is an Audio Kext, but i don't need that. Cheers! P.S.: Another Hint: If anybody is trying the same as i did and gets a working Lion installation, DONT USE the migration tool with your previous, not working installation - its a bad idea!
