I am having trouble getting iPC OSX 10.5.6 to boot after it installs. Pretty sure the problem is my motherboard as it is OEM from gateway and I can't specifically switch to AHCI mode for my hard disk. When I try to boot into Leopard I think I can hear my hard drive that it is installed to power off. But it gets recognized in windows when I reboot. I also get the constant reboot loop if I don't boot from the Mac disc. Does anybody know of any distro of OSX that has a workaround for not being able to switch to AHCI. Even though this is my first time trying to install hackintosh, I am pretty sure that this is the problem. When I boot from the disc with the flag -f I start to problems such as "unable to probe dev disk" "unable to mount dev disk" "file system is read only. Skipping link data generation"and "coreRAIDserver not responding." These arent the only things that show but I think that these are all linked to each other and the limitations of my bios. Btw my specs are Athlon 64 X2 4200 GeForce 6100 nforce 410 4x1GB DDR2 RAM (two PC2-4200, two PC2-5300). I think my two DVD drives are IDE. I have a fic mobo but gateway obviously has stripped it down. I also have 1SATA 250 GB drive, 1 new SATA 1TB Drive that I installed ipc 10.5.6 universal final to. And 1 500GB external hard drive. I was thinking that I might have to move all of my files and install to the external hard drive since I think unread that it could work on a USB drive

Edit: never mind. I think my problem was that I never set the partition to GUID. But I didn't install 10.5. I just tried my luck with 10.6.1 by hazard and it worked even though the last might have worked if I would've chose GUID. Now I gotta solve the sound issue and all the Quicktime crashed when I tried to play a movie.
