TheDub
Hello all! I am running a AMD system and have Snow Leopard essentially fully functional. I have upgraded to 10.6.8 and the 10.6.8 legacy kernel which included the AMD64 option. I enabled it and it modified my /Extras/com.apple.Boot.plist to contain: "-force64" and "arch=i386" in the kernel flags. (arch=i386 is supposed to be arch=i386_64 I believe) With these flags, the system boots and recognizes all of my RAM! A first for OS X on my particular system. The fun stops there though, most apps work such as Safari but within Safari flash doesn't work. Tried Google Chrome / Firefox and they both barely work at all. The system doesn't seem unstable, no panics, just lots of random hanging. Am I missing something? Any assistant is as always appreciated. Install method: Retail + Nawcom ModUSB Thanks, Dub Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/270161-legacy-kernel-1068-x64-lag-latency-issues/ Share on other sites
