chopperp1
Hi, I have just built Dell XPS200 with iATKOS s3 image, which is 10.6.3. I got everything working except built-in cd/dvd drive. I have no problem booting from cd, so hardware is working properly, but once osx is loaded it just doesn't see any cd, or dvd drive in system profiler. I've looked around on different forums, and couldn't find any leads... Gringo Vermelho
It's not the drive, it's the controller it's connected to. You need to identify it and find a driver for it. Another solution is to connect the CD drive to the same controller that your hard drive is connected to. chopperp1
The IDE controller on that system is Intel ICH7 (8086:27df), and seems iATKOS s3 comes with patched kext for it. I can't find any other kexts that address only IDE controller... Any help will be appreciated...
