ultra242 Posted October 10, 2011 Share Posted October 10, 2011 hello and thank you for the forum. i own a mac mini g4, but unfortunately i need an intel mac to do certain things. i'm a programmer looking to test cross-platform code, so i think a hackintosh might be my solution. i have an asus u52f-bbl9 laptop that has an i5 in it. when i attempt to install, i get the error efi_inject_get_devprop_string null trying stringdata. i've seen this around the web, but usually people are getting it after a successful installation and need to do something simple to fix the problem (remove hibernate?). my problem is that i get this before the installation, immediately after i choose what to boot in chameleon. the laptop simply reboots into the same problem. i've tried from both a usb stick and a burned dvd and i get the same results. if anybody knows what i could change to fix this, please help! thank you. ultra242 Posted October 11, 2011 Author Share Posted October 11, 2011 i've managed to complete an installation using -v -x -f cpus=1 busratio=25, but now it gives me the same error trying to boot. same problem using both ideneb and iatkos.
