Bobert01 Posted October 10, 2011 Share Posted October 10, 2011 right hello, im bobert. im trying out iatkos L1 and its a clean install from a usb cd/dvd rom drive the install took a while to boot but did so an the actual install seemed okay. i finally got to my desktop and saw that there was no wifi sound or usb keyboard or mouse and then i wondered were the hdd icon was?? so i rebooted and typed i think arch=i386 even tho its in chameleon's plist an my wifi is now working but still no usb no icons and no sound !! its a Toshiba Satellite P200 1fc. ati mob. radeon 2600 with 1024x768 not a problem right now thing is as ive said theres no usb working nor hdd cd icons on the desktop please can someone help meh out and tell me what to do ? so that it works ps i replaced the wifi card intel 4965agn with Atheros 5008x thats ar5bxb72 i think just to keep things tidy im on the wifi now must of needed a reboot to work but still no usbs thats intermittent can someone help me please its driving me nuts in "computer" it sees mac journaled drives ? sound is realtek alc 268 or 286 i cannot remember .. Tsubako Posted October 11, 2011 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Lion as default doesn't show mounted devices on desktop. You have to set your preferences in finder options to get that behaviour. Bobert01 Posted October 12, 2011 Author Share Posted October 12, 2011 arr thank you, also ive found out why it was so slow, i had to boot back to windows and downgrade my bios back to the XP Bios and now it runs fast again ! will just need to sort out the other problems with kexts ... thank you very much for letting me know that .
