Hello,

I dowloaded and installed the 10.7.2 GM update.

After Update my Virtual machine doesn´t start anymore.

I tried twice. After installing it hangs at [PCI CONFIGURATION BEGIN]

same update von my Lenovo went without failures.

Any one same problem?

Yes we know it is broken and no solution currently.

Doh! I'm an idiot and didn't think to research this before installing updates today on my Lion install under ESXi 5.0 (latest patch using Donk's unlocker). Everything seemed to install OK but now it hangs at the Apple logo screen.

100% my fault... I can't believe I didn't at least take a snapshot first.

OK, so mea culpa! Any possible way to fix this (can I boot into that Lion Recovery partition and do anything?) or should I bide my time and wait for a solution? Or is this pretty much going to come down to "blow out the VM and re-install from scratch?"

Fortunately I wasn't really using the VM for much, but still I'd invested about five hours getting it installed, updated, and configured. Really really dumb that I didn't take a snapshot.

Much appreciate any advice.

I am having the same issue on VMWare Workstation 7 following the installation from the pkg file (not the update utility). I have snapshots before and after if evaluating them would help.

add npci=0x2000 into com.apple.Boot.plist of the disk you are trying to boot.

You can use e.g. the lion boot DVD to get into your "dead" VM and use Terminal to edit /Volumes/<name of your disk drive>/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

Next you still have the LSI kext problem: AppleLSIFusionMPT.kext

replace that with the one from 10.7/10.7.1, again use DVD to do that.
