MDFang
Samsung's Series 7 Chronos notebook (700z3a) came out pretty recently. It's a pretty good one, here's some of the specs: Intel Core i7 2675QM (2.2 GHz Quad Core) AMD Radeon HD6750M graphics card 6/8 GB DDR3 750 GB HDD (7200 RPM) with an 8GB SSD and ExpressCache I've been thinking about it, and I think it'd be doable to get Mac OSX on it. Graphics card is the same as used in the current Macbook Pros. The updated processor might give some problems, though. What do you guys think? Would it be doable without too much hassle? Any of you planning to get one too? ~ Fang Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/269623-samsung-series-7-chronos/ Share on other sites

MDFang
I had contact with someone who's pretty knowledgable on the subject. He said he isn't too optimistic about it. The newer processor will more than likely give some problems, but it'll also be a big, big pain in the butt to get all the peripheral hardware to work right/work at all. Said I'm better off getting another one, OR waiting 'till someone comes with news about it, as it isn't too smart to go pioneering yourself. I wouldn't have pioneered myself anyway, so I hope you're going through with this so I can see if everything'll be able to work and such. But of course, you're probably thinking the same thing. jardan
Well, as I said, for the money it looks a very good option for me, regardless if I get a fully running mac version on it. I am not a programmer or very experienced so do not expect much from me. When eventually this laptop comes out, and if I finaly get it, I will for sure try to dual boot Lion and see what happens. I am also hoping that due to the price and what it offers, a lot of people will get it, thus working on it and fixing any of the problems. Thanks for you answer, if you are interested of how it goes, I will keep you posted. almyz125
Hey i found this thread while looking for other people trying to boot osx on the Chronos 7. I've been able to get Retail Snow Leopard, iAtkos S3 and iAtkos L2 to install. The Snow Leopard versions have less issues booting. Check out my guide and get more people involved so we can get this working fully. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=275925 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/269623-samsung-series-7-chronos/#findComment-1797249 Share on other sites
