UNI project requires mac. I am new to mac, some advice please :D

Hi all

This is my first post on insanelymac.com and most surely wont be my last

 

 

i am completely new to mac and have limited expertise outside of windows.

I am wanting to use mac as i am doing a final year project which require iphone deveolpment

i will be using the iOS SDK which i am new too and xcode also, i belive.

 

my system specs are as follows

HDD maxtor 160GB --- for OSX maybe

HDD multiple others but are all in use

SSD OCZ vertex 2SE ---windows 7 (will leave 7 on here only as its only 64gb)

CPU AMD phenom II X4 955

mobo ASUS M4A89GTD-PRO

GFX ATI 6870HD ------ XFX HD-687A-ZNFC

RAM 4GB KINGSTON HYPER DDR3 1333

 

i have seen that some people have had success with the mainboard that i have although i cant find that much information about the graphics card although there where some things mentioned

 

 

my main query is what version of OS X should i use, whats the most stable ATM

any other advice is great too
