HOW TO go from phisical HD OSx Lion to VirtualBox VHD

Hi,

i made a strange experiment and it worked ...

I had installed OSX Lion on my Hackintosh PC with dual boot with XP

So i had three partition MBR ( OSx Lion, Win XP, Data )

HFS+ , NTFS, NTFS

What we need:

1. True Image Echo Server 9.70

2. VirtualBox 4.0.4 for windows or more recent

3. time ~ 20 minutes

Well using True Image Echo Server 9.70 i have backuped HFS+ partition to OSXLion.Tib

Then i have converted, using True Image, the OSXLion.tib to OSXLion.VHD

Next i have created a Virtual Machine under Virtualbox

Parameters:

-------------

1. Create virtual machine:

--------------------------

VM Name and OS Type

* Name: OSX Lion

* Operating System: Mac OS X

* Version: Mac OS X Server (64 bit)

* enable virtualization in BIOS HOST computer (VT-x)

* Memory 1024 MB (minimum)

* Virtual Disk : --> Use the one created OSXLion.VHD

* Boot Order: CD/DVD-ROM, Hard Disk

* Extended Features: Enable IO APIC

* Extended Features: Disable EFI

2. Set Option in VM

-----------------------

Enable Hardware clock in UTC time

Enable absolute pointing device

Display Video Memory: 32 MB

Extended Features: Enable 3D Acceleration

Storage SATA controller for HDD image Type: AHCI

IDE Controller for CD/DVD device Type: ICH9

Audio Host Audio: Windows Direct Sound

Audio Controller: Intel HD Audio

Network

* Enable Network Adapter

* Attached to: NAT

* Adapter Type: Intel PRO/1000 MT Server (82545EM)

* Cable connected

And voila' it Works ....

Tips :

My OSX Lion partition on PC was bootable with Chameleon 2.0 RC5 and all the needed Kexts

were on place

I have installed VirtualBox also under Hachintosh OSx Lion and boot VHD Very Well ...

I Think this is the fastest way to get OSx Lion on Virtualbox

Best Regards
