vaio vgn-nr498e almost perfect

To start off I have been researching for a long time on how to get the brightness controls to work. Never had luck.

Can't even dim the display in the display settings in the OS.

The display shows up as "unknown monitor".

I have to use switchresx to get the full resolution 1280x800 to get rid of the artifacts.

I am booting into 32bit to get x3100 to work.

I have been looking for a dsdt.aml for the vgn-nr498e, but no luck.

I tried to extract it from ubuntu live cd, also no luck.

 

Other than that, rest of the hardware works great.

 

If anyone has a working dsdt or help me get to the right direction to be able to adjust the brightness for the vgn-nr498e I will be very grateful

 

 

P.S. - Please do not suggest third party software like shades.
