MrMumblz
I will start off by giving you my system specs: • Xfx790i ultra motherboard • Xfx8800 GTS, 320mb graphics card • 8gb geil 1666 ram • Intel 6600 core2duo quad cpu • 2x sata harddrives • 1x sata dvdrw • 1x ide dvdrw I first of all booted the system using the nvidia boot disk and then used a retail mac osx disk. The install all goes through fine. Boot with boot disk into mac then copyied over the preboot.dmg, smbios and info.plist to the extra folder. Then install voodoo hda, graphics enabler and chameleon rc5 to get the system to a bootable configuration with no kernel panics. Update to anything past 10.6.4 and I start getting this message at the start of a verbose boot: Inside my working Extra folder I have a: • smbios_macpro21.plist • com.apple.Boot.plist • Extensions.mkext • Extensions folder AppleACPIPS2Nub AppleNForceATA_Test.MeDevil ApplePS2Controller Disabler Dsmos OpenHaltRestart PlatformUUID Find attached folder for the smbios and com.apple.boot.plist. My Extra Items I am running: Kernel Version:Darwin 10.0.0 The mach_kernel I took off the nvidea disk was placed on the root of the mac’s drive. Can still use the system and update up to 10.6.6 before the system starts hanging at various points, generally when I am using disk utility or installing software. This is seriously frustrating, I have occasionally updated the system to 10.6.8 but the freezes and kernel panics then start. I have also tried using the ##### and ##### methods but seem to get a kernel panic early on in the booting sequence. I Ideally would love to update to 10.7 lion but cant really get a stable system on 10.6 let alone 10.8 and beyond. If anyone could help me out with this I would be very grateful.
