RIPR
Hello, I'd like to install Mac OS X Lion to my lappy - MSI GX600PX (2,4GHz Intel C2D, 4GB 667MHz RAM, 8600m GT, 320GB 5600rpm HDD). Problem is that I'm getting errors at the installation all the time. Mostly it is because of ACPI, as I already wrote at the title. I'm trying to boot with -v cpus=1 busratio=12 (adding -x doesn't help), but I'm still getting those errors. I'm using newest ##### Legacy and I tried already everything, i could google. My AHCI at Bios is on, the busratio is correct, as well as the loader CD and Installation flash drive. I tried even retail SL, but still the same problem :-/. Can install only some of iAtkos distros. But I want to install Lion clearly without updating it from SL, which is'nt anyway working properly. This is a photo of the error. jnk13
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't think anyone has ever posted a solution to this. I have the exact same problem with p5e-vm se motherboard and both ##### and Empire EFI (including legacy versions) are giving me this error. The reason apparently is the chipset (Intel ICH9 in my case) for which these boot loaders have no proper kexts. Also, my motherboard has AMI BIOS which is terrible (no proper ACPI and AHCI settings, you can only set SATA to "Enhanced"). On the other hand, Lion seems to support my chipset, however to install Lion you need a working Snow first. RIPR
Yeah... I'd tried to solve this problem for a long time. I posted this problem several times on different forums, but still, no help. I think, that the problem isn't that big, but just nobody wants to repair it. I've seen many of those kernel panics and most of them, were the same. You can try whatever bootloader you want (List of bootloaders I'd tried: Chameleon 1, 2, iCD, Hackintosh India, #####, ##### Legacy, Empire EFI, Rebel EFI, maybe even more of them), but still, the problem is the same. But when you look at those topics here and on other forums, what do you see? No answers . Nobody cares about it, and if somebody does... Well, he will say something like: "Set right busratio, cpus, try another bootloader, distribution and then, I don't know". I don't know, but it seems to me, that this problem is realy ignored here, because when you look on those forums, some of those topics are up to 5 years old! Now that's something weird. And no solution I tried today new iAtkos L1, but again no chance. I still have got to use bootloader, so there is no way, how to start the instalation. If I could at least install the system, I would replace those kexts, with those, which works from previous versions (Leopard worked realy nice). But like that... I gues no chance. The wierdest thing is, that the same problem I have also on my desktop computer with p67 chipset, which shoud not have any problems! fullbanner
I also had the same problem My solution to install Lion with an installer partition created with xMove is, boot the system with ##### then highlight the partition Installer and write 'mach_kernel' Enter. After the system is installed i replace the correct kexts to get sound etc. Edit: I had again the same problem when upgrading to latest version of chimera I've booted the system with '-s -v' and discovered that it was trying to load platform 'x86_x64'. I've added arch=i386 to my 'org.chameleon.Boot.plist' and now it's working great.
