Smalls
I'm working on making my 4th dual boot pc with windows and mac os. With Win7 installed already, I installed Snow Leopard. I was able to boot to it the first time, setting up the user info, etc. Then I booted to Win7. The next time I tried booting to Mac, when Chameleon tries to boot (when I don't press any key or F8) the message: BOOT MGR IS MISSING PRESS CTRL +ALT+DEL TO RESTART. If I press F8 and select the Mac OS drive, it stops with the chameleon on the top and hangs. I tried reinstalling the Mac OS and resetting the EasyBCD for booting, but still the same result. Any help? Thanks. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/268791-boot-manger-missing/ Share on other sites
Smalls
If there isn't a direct fix, how do you uninstall Chameleon, so I can start over? The first time I installed, I unplugged my 2nd hard drive and started having log in problems after reconnecting it. Gringo Vermelho
You can't completely uninstall Chameleon, the parts that can't be uninstalled can only be replaced with another boot loader. The ""BOOTMGR is missing, Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"" message is from Windows 7, it means that the boot sector or the MBR is damaged, or at least not configured how Windows thinks it should be. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927392 You should not be seeing that message when booting a hard drive that doesn't have a Windows installation on it.
