Hi guys,

Ok, i am running 10.4.5 OS X on Intel machine. Everything works almost flawless.

Except i cannot connect to internet. I have some Siemens USB adsl modem.

OS X can see it (with some different driver i guess) and that is about all. The LINE LED on my modem

never lights up. Only POWER LED.

Do you have any tips?

Thanks!

first off I want to say usb adsl modems are the worst concept ever created by mortal man and that mac support will be sketchy at best.

Ok with that said..

goto system preferences -> network -> Show: "Your modem" -> Select PPPoE tab.

click the option to "connect using pppoe" fill out the Account name box and the password...select save password if needed and then hit apply now.

You may want to try rebooting after that if it doesn't auto connect.

If that doesn't work try giving us the model number for your modem and service provder...

however you should really try getting a ethernet modem, only drivers needed are your ethernet card and no additional USB drivers are ever needed, so it works with macs, pc's, and linux machines all the same...

Well, I've got this Inca 4 port Ethernet/USB ADSL modem and it worked right out of the box through USB, in Mac OS. Obviously, it also works through ethernet, too.
