Hey guys, I just upgraded to 10.6.8 on my backup install, (so I don't mess up my main one..), and got my graphics card QE/CI, which works fine. I started noticing something was up, cause it was SOO slow, and my wireless card, which is recognized, is "off," and when I try to turn it on, it looks as if it turns on, then turns back off. I looked in the Console, and sure enough, it was saying configd was crashing about every 5 seconds. Is this a kext that is doing it? Thanks! :)

Never mind, I found the problem. Here was the solution...

I had this EXACT same problem. I have a Broadcom card, but I'm on 10.6.8, not Lion. I finally got to updating my backup install to 10.6.8, so I don't mess my good one up, and realised it was SUPER slow. I did some searching and found configd was crashing every 5 seconds. So I found this thread, and saw this tip. I tried it, nothing. Then I switched out the Apple80211Monitor.bundle for the 10.6.7 one, and it works perfectly. Wifi connects and shows me how strong the signal is and everything.
